WOO!

Alright, so the project is just about done. I'll probably go in during co and tweak it a bit, but it's pretty much finished.

However, each slide is over 30 words, but it's downright impossible to get so much information across in 30 word slides. I'm hoping it's just a typo on the rubric (let's face it, it's probably not, but one can hope).
Ah well. It's a good presentation in my mind, although it was pretty hard finding resources and piecing the information together.

The primary sources did not help as much as expected, but they're there and that's that.

These films and pictures are quite horrifying however, and I'm afraid I'll have nightmares.
Well, all for a good grade, right?

'night everyone

Progress Update

Alright, so here's what's going on:

John has given me a bit of his information, which I have edited and put into the prezi, but I'm still working on the other pieces of information. I have been piecing everything together, putting it into the prezi template I created. However, the template will most likely be modified as the information accumulates. I'm taking a bit of a break to post this, but I've stumbled across a few gruesome experiments (some pertaining to the topic, some not) and two I found was pretty interesting. The Soviets sent out a propaganda video showing a severed dog head running solely on machines. It could lick its nose and blink and function, all while a machine pumped its blood and breathed for it. After a bit of digging, I found it to be a false experiment, used to scare Americans into thinking that they could revive soldiers from the dead. The other experiment was German dog experiment where they cut a small dog in half and attached it to a larger one. This one, as far as I could tell, was real, and done several times. If anyone wants to see the videos, comment and I'll post them.

But back to the task at hand. I'll probably post another update later, but I felt like sharing that other experiments were going on as well as the human ones we all know all too well.

2nd Day Update

Today, John and I started looking for primary sources.
So far, we have found secondary sources with primary sources in them.
We still need to go in and pull out the relevant information.
Here are a couple of our sources:

Essential Question

Were the scientific experiments on human test subjects during WWII and the Holocaust justifiable by the knowledge gained?

This is the question John and I hope to answer through this project. We will be answering these three main objectives:

1) Assess the responses of the US and other nations to the violation of human rights that occurred during the Holocaust and other genocides.

2) Relate new wartime inventions to scientific and technological advancements in the civilian world.

3) Compare the varying perspectives of victims, survivors, bystanders, rescuers and perpetrators during the Holocaust.

Our primary sources will most likely be pictures, videos, interviews, and documents.
